WHAMmobile Review

mass text message

WHAMmobile is a web based mobile marketing service that allows you to send text message campaigns to reach your customers. This article is a review of Whammobile.

WHAMmobile was founded in 2005 and the business is based in Houston area of Texas. Their website is full of information about different types of mobile marketing included statistics of mobile uses (both with and without sources). They have a wide variety of clients and claim they will work with Fortune 500 companies to online stores.

From the their website there is not a focus on any features or benefits that Whammobile possesses to set it aside from the many other companies within the industry. There is clearly a benefit to text message marketing in lieu of email, direct mail, newspaper and cold calling and that is the features and benefits that their website is focused on.

There are three different packages that Wham mobile has accompanying their enterprise package.

The WHAMmobile small business packages are as follows:

• Basic Package
o 500 messages per month
o 1 keyword is included
o $69.00 a month
• Pro Package
o 1000 messages per month
o 1 keyword is included
o $89.00 a month
• Plus Package
o 5000 messages per month
o 1 keyword is included
o $289.00 a month

In addition to their packages there are some fees that can be levied for:

• $75 set-up fee (1 time charge)
• $50 additional keyword (unclear as to 1 time or monthly charge)
• $75 weekly reporting (unclear as to 1 time or monthly charge)

WHAMmobile offers both phone and email support however there is no clear direction to get to a support page. You can only find the support information through their “contact us” tab.

The WHAMmobile site is relatively easy to navigate so their web based service may also be manageable for the client as well.

When weighing the pros and cons for WHAMmobile, there doesn’t seem to be a lot to set them aside from their peers in the industry. The set-up fee of $75 is over industry average, they don’t seem to have any features that differentiate them from the many other companies and their package costs are also over the industry average. Reporting for most all of the industry is part of the platform so the $75 is excessive (whether one time or monthly). They do have multiple ways of supporting their service for their clients and going off the ease of use of their website, their platform for text message campaigns should be manageable.
